On Tuesday Trion will have to hit the road after four straight games at home. They will venture away from home to take on the Mt. Zion Eagles at 5:30 p.m.
Trion is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 28, 2023 on Thursday. They came up short against Haralson County, falling 9-3.
Meanwhile, Mt. Zion had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Douglas County 14-5 on Thursday. Considering the Eagles have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Trion's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mt. Zion, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
Trion took their victory against Mt. Zion in their previous matchup back in September of 2021 by a conclusive 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trion since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
