Softball Recap: Ellsworth Panthers vs. Grantsburg Pirates
Ellsworth lost a close one when they played last Tuesday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They lost 9-2 to the Grantsburg Pirates. Ellsworth has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Karli Gutting made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Delaney Johnson was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Ellsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Grantsburg, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Ellsworth has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Prescott at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grantsburg, they will head out on the road to square off against Turtle Lake/Clayton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Grantsburg is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
