Basketball Game Preview: Clarke Central Gladiators vs. Jackson County Panthers

The Clarke Central Gladiators will head out on the road to face off against the Jackson County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarke Central is looking for their season's first win.

Clarke Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. The match between them and Alcovy didn't end well, with Clarke Central falling 85-66. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while the Tigers are ranked 129th).

Meanwhile, Jackson County hadn't done well against Apalachee recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Jackson County enjoyed a cozy 61-46 victory over Apalachee. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Jackson County's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Clarke Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.

Clarke Central couldn't quite finish off Jackson County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 61-59. Can Clarke Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
