The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Red Hawks will head out to square off against the Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Melrose-Mindoro likes a good challenge.
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau came out on top against Arcadia on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Red Hawks blew past the Raiders 12-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Red Hawks' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Caiden Brady made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jackson Burns was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Nathan Holthaus also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Melrose-Mindoro hadn't done well against Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Lancers. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.
Jacob Thesing spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Melrose-Mindoro got a massive performance out of Eric Herzberg, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brady Blaken, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
The win (which was Melrose-Mindoro's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
