Basketball Recap: LEE Comes Up Short

LEE was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost to the Johnson Jaguars on the road by a 50-31 margin. While losing is never fun, the Volunteers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while the Jaguars are ranked 69th).

Johnson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ahlias Isaac, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Isaac has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ian Rizo, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

LEE's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Johnson, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LEE will square off against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. LEE is facing Madison at the right time seeing as Madison is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Johnson, they will face off against Churchill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
