Baseball Recap: White Pigeon Gets the Win

White Pigeon proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Colon Magi. The Chiefs haven't had any issues with the Magi recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Brody Block spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dace Kochel JR., who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Bright, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

White Pigeon's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Colon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record.

As of now, neither White Pigeon nor the Magi have any future games scheduled.
