Softball Game Recap: Schaumburg Saxons vs. Elk Grove Grenadiers

Schaumburg scored first but ultimately less than Elk Grove in their game on Wednesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grenadiers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Taylor Dolecki made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Murtaugh, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Schaumburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Elk Grove, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Schaumburg will challenge Buffalo Grove at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elk Grove, they will host Hersey at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
