Softball Recap: Campo Verde Wins Going Away Against Mcclintock

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Campo Verde had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the McClintock Chargers. The victory continues a trend for the Coyotes in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won five in a row.

Addyson Armstrong tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Campo Verde got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Giefski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. That's the most hits Giefski has posted since April 1st. Anna Zehring was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Campo Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Campo Verde's win bumped their record up to 11-18. As for McClintock, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.

Campo Verde didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-0 loss against Desert Mountain on the 3rd. McClintock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
