Recap: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Bells Panthers
The Tom Bean Tomcats lost against the Bells Panthers back in November of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tom Bean took a serious blow against Bells, falling 59-32. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tom Bean in their matchups with Bells: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Tom Bean had strong showings from Allie Hickman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Samantha Lind, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Hickman scored a full 50% of Tom Bean's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tom Bean has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Bells, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tom Bean will take on Sam Rayburn at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bells, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Howe at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Howe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 457th, while Bells is ranked 208th).
