Softball Game Preview: Mingo Central Miners vs. Belfry Pirates

Mingo Central hasn't had much luck against Belfry recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Miners are taking a road trip to square off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Mingo Central blew Martin County out of the water the last time the pair played, but two weeks ago Martin County got their revenge. The Miners fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Miners have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Meanwhile, Belfry came up short against Chapmanville Regional on Saturday and fell 5-1. The Pirates have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Belfry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Mingo Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Mingo Central suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Belfry in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
