Basketball Recap: Presidio Takes a Loss

After flying high against Anthony last Friday, Presidio came back down to earth. The Presidio Blue Devils took a 47-32 bruising from the Alpine Bucks on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Bucks recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Alpine found their leader in sophomore Evelyn Smith, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Smith is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Colette Fowlkes was another key player, putting up six points and 13 boards.

Presidio's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-7. As for Alpine, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Presidio didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-41 defeat against Kermit on the 17th. Alpine has also already played their next game, a 72-11 win against Anthony on the 17th.
