Recap: Gilbert Tigers vs. Desert Ridge Jaguars

The Gilbert Tigers stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Desert Ridge with a sharp 82-60 victory. Given Gilbert's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Desert Ridge is ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gilbert found their leader in underclassman Caia Campbell, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Aspen McClees, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.

Gilbert pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.2 points per game. As for Desert Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Coincidentally, Gilbert and Desert Ridge will both be playing Queen Creek the next time they take the court. Gilbert will host Queen Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Desert Ridge will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
