Softball Recap: Glenn Finds Home Field Redemption Against Cedar Park

There's no place like home for Glenn, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Cedar Park Timberwolves on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won six in a row.

Maddy Butler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Glenn got a massive performance out of Brooke Cantu, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Caylee Curtsinger also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Glenn's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Cedar Park, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Glenn and Cedar Park could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Glenn will square off against Leander at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 160 places (267 vs. 107). Meanwhile, Cedar Park (ranked 959th) will meet Liberty Hill (ranked 29th) at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
