Naugatuck beats Woodland Regional for their sixth straight win

Recap: Naugatuck Greyhounds vs. Woodland Regional Hawks

The Naugatuck Greyhounds put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over Woodland Regional. Fans of Naugatuck have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.

Jett Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 38 yards and a touchdown. Hall was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Martinez, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.

Naugatuck's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0. As for Woodland Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Naugatuck will take on Torrington at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Torrington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Naugatuck is ranked 21st). As for Woodland Regional, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Watertown at 6:30 p.m.
