Football Recap: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Skates Past Riverside-Durham with Ease + How To Watch

Everything came up roses for the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans against the Riverside-Durham Pirates on Friday as the team secured a 49-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Pirates are ranked 335th).

Kamari Holloway had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 209 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 112.7 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Dillon, who rushed for 35 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caden Vann and Jayden Bowman. Kye Johnson was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks, forcing one fumble, and making five total tackles.
