Baseball Game Preview: Kiski Area Cavaliers vs. Armstrong River Hawks

For the second straight game, Kiski Area will face off against Armstrong. The Cavaliers will take on the River Hawks at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kiski Area is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Armstrong on Monday. They came up short against the River Hawks, falling 8-2. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the River Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

For Armstrong's part, Carson Delano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Delano a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Hunter Reed was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Josh Fester was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Armstrong always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Armstrong has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kiski Area, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
