Preview: Wellsville-Middletown Tigers vs. Pilot Grove Tigers
The Wellsville-Middletown Tigers will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Pilot Grove Tigers on Saturday. Hopefully Wellsville-Middletown is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pilot Grove in Missouri (Wellsville-Middletown is ranked 149th, while Pilot Grove is ranked 387th).
On Thursday, Wellsville-Middletown came up short against Green City and fell 58-45.
Meanwhile, Pilot Grove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on December 14th after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 37-36 to Sturgeon.
Wellsville-Middletown now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Pilot Grove, they have fallen quite a ways from their 23-6 record last season and are now at 2-6.
Wellsville-Middletown was taken down by Pilot Grove 59-31 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wellsville-Middletown was down 30-5.
