Basketball Recap: Morningside Academy Triumphs

Morningside Academy picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They came out on top against the Cambridge Christian Lancers by a score of 38-30.

It was another big night for AJ Chang, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 18 times he's played. Elijah Bell was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Morningside Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambridge Christian only racked up three assists.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zay Burton, who posted seven points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Andrew Proffitt, who had 12 points.

Morningside Academy's record now sits at 11-8. As for Cambridge Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Morningside Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-74 win against Boca Raton Christian on the 23rd. As for Cambridge Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-35 loss against Clearwater Central Catholic on the 21st.
