Basketball Recap: Huntington Beach Takes a Loss

After soaring to 65 points the game before, Huntington Beach was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 66-30 defeat at the hands of the Los Alamitos Griffins. The game marked the Oilers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Huntington Beach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Los Alamitos, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Huntington Beach and Los Alamitos could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Huntington Beach will square off against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 223 places (329 vs. 106). Similarly, Los Alamitos (ranked 30th) will meet Redondo Union (ranked third) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
