Volleyball Recap: Evergreen Falls to Arvada West in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Evergreen had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Arvada West Wildcats on Thursday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-20.

Charleston Cowen paced Evergreen's offense, picking up six kills. Cowen got some help from Sophie Mulso and her ten assists.

Arvada West was led to victory by Mya Lee and Brooke Luna. Lee had seven aces and six digs, while Luna had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Luna has posted since back in October of 2024.

Evergreen will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summit at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th. As for Arvada West, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Green Mountain on the 26th.
