Volleyball Game Preview: Cherryville Ironmen vs. Highland Tech Rams

Cherryville is 0-10 against Highland Tech since September of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Ironmen will take on the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Cherryville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Cherryville proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Stuart W. Cramer. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ironmen have posted since September 9th.

Cherryville took Stuart W. Cramer into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 25-22, 17-25, 18-16.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Highland Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Shelby on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Highland Tech took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14, 25-7.

Cherryville's record is now 15-8. As for Highland Tech, their record now sits at 18-4.

Cherryville couldn't quite get it done against Highland Tech in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Ironmen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
