Softball Recap: Puyallup Comes Up Short

Puyallup lost against Sumner back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Vikings fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-1. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Puyallup saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenny Tuivaiave, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Puyallup's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Sumner, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Puyallup is set to square off against their familiar foe Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sumner will face off against rival South Kitsap at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
