Basketball Recap: Tonopah Comes Up Short

Tonopah and Indian Springs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Tonopah had to settle for second. They fell to the Indian Springs Thunderbirds 41-36. The loss continues a trend for the Muckers in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Tonopah still got an impressive performance from Trinity Blackburn, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Indian Springs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Clay, who scored 18 points. Clay continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Karmyn Guerino, who earned 12 points.

Tonopah's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Indian Springs, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Tonopah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Indian Springs, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-32 loss against Round Mountain on the 15th.
