Basketball Recap: Sunnyside Comes Up Short

Sunnyside lost against Davis back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sunnyside Grizzlies fell just short of the Davis Pirates by a score of 52-50. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Pirates are ranked 19th).

Sunnyside has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Davis, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunnyside will challenge Moses Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Davis, they are taking a road trip to square off against Federal Way on Monday. Federal Way will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Davis surely won't give up without a fight.
