Recap: Dillon Wildcats vs. Aynor Blue Jackets
The Dillon Wildcats entered their tilt with the Aynor Blue Jackets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Dillon came out on top against Aynor by a score of 35-27 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Dillon also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Dillon found their leader in underclassman Treasure Davis, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Dillon's points. Khwnylahi Mckinnon was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Dillon pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Aynor, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dillon will square off against Red Springs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Red Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 441st in North Carolina, while Dillon is ranked 79th in South Carolina). Aynor is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Waccamaw at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
