Recap: Grace Baptist Academy Flyers vs. South Plantation Paladins
After a string of four wins, the Grace Baptist Academy Flyers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. Their2023 ended with a 63-46 loss against South Plantation.
Leading South Plantation to victory were Kaiden Francis and Austin Howe. Francis went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 3 assists, while Howe dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Howe pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwight Stephens, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Grace Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for South Plantation, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Grace Baptist Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Somerset Prep on December 29th. Somerset Prep is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. South Plantation won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Impact Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th. Impact Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while South Plantation is ranked 50th).
