Basketball Game Preview: Meridian Trojans vs. Sedro-Woolley Cubs

The Meridian Trojans will challenge the Sedro-Woolley Cubs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Meridian will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Mount Vernon, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Meridian strolled past Mount Vernon with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 72-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Sedro-Woolley unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Burlington-Edison 66-62.

Meridian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Sedro-Woolley, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.

Meridian and Sedro-Woolley were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but Meridian came up empty-handed after a 63-62 defeat. Can Meridian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
