Football Game Preview: Stillwater Pioneers vs. Piedmont Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Stillwater Pioneers are taking a road trip to face off against the Piedmont Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Piedmont will be up against a hot Stillwater team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Pioneers came out on top against Putnam City by a score of 33-20 on Thursday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stillwater to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Thomas, who picked up 128 receiving yards and two TDs. Thomas was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 62 yards. Kyle Stokes was in the mix as well, providing Stillwater with two scores.

Stillwater didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Bryson Brown, Thomas, and Caden Johnson picked up one apiece. Brown got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Piedmont made easy work of Southmoore on Thursday and carried off a 41-19 win. Considering the Wildcats have won six contests by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Stillwater's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Piedmont, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Stillwater against Piedmont in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 49-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
