Basketball Recap: Jordan Macias Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

On Friday, the North Shore Mustangs strolled past the Pasadena Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 50-34. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Eagles are ranked 761st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Shore's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Macias led the charge by putting up 14 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Macias a new career-high in assists (three). Rashaad Williams was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points.

North Shore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

North Shore's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Pasadena, they moved to 9-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Shore and Goose Creek Memorial will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goose Creek Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully North Shore likes a good challenge. Pasadena will take on Crosby in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
