Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask L.C. Bird). They claimed a resounding 75-44 victory over the Powhatan Indians. The win continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won six in a row.

L.C. Bird's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylie Kent, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Kent a new career-high in points. Sasha Hodge was another key player, going 6 of 15 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds.

L.C. Bird was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

L.C. Bird's record is now 15-5. As for Powhatan, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. L.C. Bird will face off against Monacan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Powhatan, they and James River Midlothian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
