Soccer Game Preview: Becker vs. St. John's Prep

The Becker Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the St. John's Prep Johnnies at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. St. John's Prep took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Becker, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, it was close, but Becker sidestepped North Branch for a 2-1 win. Becker haven't had any issues with North Branch recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, St. John's Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Minnewaska Area.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4-2. As for St. John's Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Everything went Becker's way against St. John's Prep when the teams last played back in August of 2024, as Becker made off with a 6-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
