Baseball Recap: Xaverian Takes a Loss

Xaverian blew St. Mary out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday St. Mary's got their revenge. The Clippers fell just short of the Gaels by a score of 7-5. The Clippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gaels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Xaverian has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for St. Mary's, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16.

Xaverian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Holy Cross on the 20th. St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
