Basketball Recap: Mize Takes a Loss

Mize was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 47-22 to the Purvis Tornadoes. The Bulldogs were down 41-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Zoey Robinson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards for Purvis. Robinson also posted six blocks, which is notable because the Tornadoes are 2-1 when she posts at least three blocks, but 2-3 otherwise. Sa'Nylah Willis also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Mize's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Purvis, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mize won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Magee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Purvis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
