Volleyball Recap: Westerville Central Takes a Loss

Westerville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warhawks of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Westerville Central actually scored more points across those five sets (98-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 12-25, 15-9.

Worthington Kilbourne found their leader in sophomore Asher Post, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Westerville Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Worthington Kilbourne, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Westerville Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Big Walnut on the 7th. As for Worthington Kilbourne, they will head out to take on Reynoldsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
