Softball Recap: Pine Grove's Run of Ten Straight Wins Now Over

Pine Grove dropped their record down to 15-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the North Schuylkill Spartans by a score of 2-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Pine Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Shiffer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for North Schuylkill, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games.

On North Schuylkill's side, not much got past Brigid Flynn, who gave up just two hits to keep Pine Grove off the board. Flynn has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pine Grove is set to challenge their familiar foe Mahanoy Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, North Schuylkill will square off against rival Our Lady of Lourdes Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
