Recap: Trinity Titans vs. Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles
The Trinity Titans lost against the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Trinity received a tough blow as they fell 46-28 to Elkhart Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while Elkhart Christian Academy is ranked 200th).
Trinity lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jacob Palmer, who scored six points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Josh Heintzelman, who scored six points.
Aiden Hibbard was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Elkhart Christian Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hibbard has scored at least a third of Elkhart Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliki Redmond, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Trinity has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will challenge Smith Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Smith Academy is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lakeland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday.
