Basketball Recap: Amanda Elzy Panthers vs. Yazoo County Panthers
The Amanda Elzy Panthers came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Yazoo County with a 62-56 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jacoreyon Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeverion Glover, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Amanda Elzy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Yazoo County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.
Amanda Elzy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Humphreys County is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Yazoo County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
