Softball Recap: Gunderson Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Gunderson won the last time they faced Hill and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Grizzlies blew past the Falcons 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Dezirae Regalado made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sophia Ocanas was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Talia Abuhamid was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Gunderson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Gunderson pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
