Preview: Marion Swamp Foxes vs. Central Eagles
The Marion Swamp Foxes will be playing at home against the Central Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Marion ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged Socastee out 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Marion had a senior duo take command as Gabriel Cusack scored 17 points along with seven assists and two steals and Jamarius Williams scored 18 points. Cusack has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahj Lathon, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though York Prep scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Central still came out on top. Central took their match against York Prep 66-58. The win was just what Central needed coming off of a 80-46 loss in their prior contest.
Central's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tazhir Webber, who scored 20 points, and Caden Edmond, who scored 19 points. Marcavion Gainey was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Marion is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.
