Basketball Recap: Marie Philip Comes Up Short

Marie Philip suffered their biggest loss since December 17, 2024 on Monday. They were beaten by Boston University Academy 62-30. The Galloping Ghosts lost against Boston University Academy in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 59-57 score last time.

Marie Philip's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Luis Ortiz-Gonzalez, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 16 points and three steals, and Alexander Forfa, who shot 56% from the field en route to 10 points and six rebounds. That was a full 53.3% of the Galloping Ghosts' points, marking the third time in a row Ortiz-Gonzalez has posted more than a third of the team's points.

This is the second loss in a row for Marie Philip and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Marie Philip will take on American School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boston University Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waring at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
