Soccer Game Preview: Brenham vs. Elgin

The Brenham Cubs will square off against the Elgin Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Brenham is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Giddings on Saturday. Brenham fell just short of Giddings by a score of 2-1. The Cubs haven't had much luck with the Buffaloes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Elgin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand IDEA South Flores a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

The win got Elgin back to even at 2-2-1. As for Brenham, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
