Basketball Recap: Juel Tillery's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wake Forest over Heritage

Wake Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 51-41 to the Heritage Huskies. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Wake Forest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juel Tillery, who went 6 for 14 en route to 14 points and three steals. That's the most points Tillery has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Scott Jones, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Wake Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Heritage, their record is now 9-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wake Forest has already played their next contest (against Knightdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Heritage will face off against Millbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Millbrook's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
