Baseball Game Preview: Sam Rayburn Texans vs. Shadow Creek Sharks

For the second straight game, Sam Rayburn will face off against Shadow Creek. The Texans will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. Sam Rayburn has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with ten straight defeats, while Shadow Creek will come in with three straight wins.

On Tuesday, Sam Rayburn came up short against Shadow Creek and fell 8-4.

For Shadow Creek's part, Ezequiel Ramirez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, Ramirez posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Chase Perthuis was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. John Oliverio was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Shadow Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Shadow Creek pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sam Rayburn, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16-2.
