Baseball Recap: South Hadley Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Hadley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Hampshire Regional Raiders. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Noah Carillon was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for South Hadley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gavin Carpenter, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

South Hadley's record is now 9-7. As for Hampshire Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Coming up, South Hadley will venture away from home to challenge Easthampton/Hampshire at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hampshire Regional, they will host Amherst-Pelham Regional at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hurricanes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.47 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
