Football Recap: Huge Rushing Attack Leads Briarwood Academy over Windsor Academy

Briarwood Academy won the last time they faced Windsor Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Buccaneers took down the Knights 34-15.

Cutler Fleming had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Briarwood Academy also got a significant boost from Caden Johnson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

Briarwood Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windsor Academy only rushed for 104 rushing yards.

Despite the loss, Windsor Academy still got an impressive performance from Dawson Sims, who rushed for 88 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries.

Briarwood Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Windsor Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Briarwood Academy will welcome Brentwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The War Eagles' defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so the Buccaneers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Windsor Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Terrell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
