Softball Recap: Peoria Comes Up Short

Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 27-10 to the Estrella Foothills Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-14 last Tuesday.

Tyler Nevarez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ashlyn Booth was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Estrella Foothills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-13.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Peoria is set to take on their familiar foe Cactus at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills will face off against rival Deer Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
