Basketball Recap: Greenleaf Friends Academy Comes Up Short

Greenleaf Friends Academy was the 41-26 winner over Horseshoe Bend when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Greenleaf Friends Academy Grizzlies took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horseshoe Bend Mustangs on Saturday. The Grizzlies' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Ashlyn Wolsleben was a one-woman wrecking crew for Horseshoe Bend as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Asher, who posted four points in addition to ten rebounds and three blocks.

Greenleaf Friends Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Horseshoe Bend, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-10.

When Greenleaf Friends Academy and Horseshoe Bend next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Greenleaf Friends Academy will take on Salmon River and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Horseshoe Bend will try to stop Tri-Valley's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
