Football Recap: Strath Haven Continues Home Dominance on Friday + How To Watch

Strath Haven had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Upper Moreland Bears 35-21 on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Bears are ranked 239th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Strath Haven to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yousif Ali, who rushed for 73 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Barlow, who rushed for 76 yards and one score.

Strath Haven didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Upper Moreland to a completion percentage of just 46.7%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Barlow and Greyson Lafrance, who each logged one passes deflected. Strath Haven wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 16.7%.

Strath Haven pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points over those games. As for Upper Moreland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Strath Haven will look to defend their home field on Friday against Unionville at 7:00 p.m. Upper Moreland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
