Excel benefitted from McMillan in 8-2 win
Excel was led to victory by Zaylon McMillan, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Wednesday. McMillan was dynamite, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.
McMillan and Excel will head out on the road to square off against Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Excel has some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since February of 2018, but a win here would be a good start.
