Football Recap: Castleberry Piles Up the Points Against Lake Worth

Castleberry hadn't done well against Lake Worth recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions claimed a resounding 50-13 victory over the Bullfrogs. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Isaiah Ford was his usual excellent self, rushing for 316 yards and four scores while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Bryan Ceniceros was another key player, picking up 90 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Castleberry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 370 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Lake Worth's loss came despite strong showings from Lucas Davis and Eddie Paige. Davis threw for 244 yards and one TD, while Paige picked up 52 receiving yards and one score.

The win made it two in a row for Castleberry and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Lake Worth, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Castleberry and Lake Worth could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Lions will challenge Alvarado at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st with a big rank disadvantage (639 vs. 90). Meanwhile, Lake Worth (ranked 687th) will meet Kennedale (ranked 281st) at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.
